Now that The Fantastic Four: First Steps is available for home viewing, via rental services, it gives MCU fans a first look at incoming villain Doctor Doom.
The long awaited appearance of Doom, played by a returning Robert Downey Jr. was teased in the post-credits sting in the latest Marvel film.
Some may consider this a spoiler, but it’s a moment too big to go unmentioned, and should you wish to see it for yourself, then have at it.
Though, if you’re waiting to watch the film on Disney Plus, you might want to look away now.

We get to see a glimpse of Doctor Doom before the final cut to black of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, in a moment that hints at his overall plans for the MCU.
The scene shows Sue Storm reading to her son, Franklin, several years after the events of the film.
As she gets up to grab another book to read, she turns to see Franklin gone, and finds him in another room reaching up to touch the face of a mysterious stranger in a dark green cloak.
We all know this is Doctor Doom, but to make it even more obvious, he’s shown holding his iconic metal mask in one hand.

This not only shows his intentions to use Franklin’s cosmic powers for his upcoming plan, but also suggests that he is manipulating his appearance in order to fool Franklin.
Known to wield both magic and technology, Doom is sure to use everything he can to get ahead in this timeline.
It’s a somewhat sinister scene, but one that brings great joy to comic book fans, as we may finally get to see the villain done justice on the big screen.
According to the film’s director, Matt Shakman, Robert Downey Jr. was actually in the cloak on set, rather than using a stand in.
