MCU fans terrified for fate of X-Men following leaked Avengers: Doomsday footage

Finally, filming is underway on the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first Avengers film since 2019’s Endgame.

Avengers: Doomsday will reunite some of Earth’s mightiest heroes, teaming them up with the X-Men, Thunderbolts, and Fantastic Four.

Filming has only just gotten underway, so it’s going to be a while until a trailer lands, especially as the film isn’t expected to launch until 1 May 2026.

Already though, one of Doomsday’s sets has leaked online giving us some idea of what we can expect.

Thunderbolts* is the MCU’s next film, launching next month.

If you don’t want to know anything about Doomsday, I suggest you look away now.

It’s YouTuber UnBoxPHD who has seemingly secured footage of the set via the use of drones.

The images reveal a courtyard of some variety, full of fountains surrounded by grass quadrants.

But the courtyard is in tatters, with huge craters spread across the set, signalling that something or someone has made a crashing descent down to Earth.

These craters are all different sizes so we’re actually likely talking about several someones or somethings.

You may think that that’s not a lot to go on, but fans are already brewing a theory that this is the courtyard of the X-Mansion, as suggested by Reddit user ImmortalZucc2020.

“Could be..what do you think happened there?” replied Tmwhols.

“First effects of an incursion? Or Doom came down and whooped their asses,” the OP added.

“It'd be badass if the intro of this movie was Dr Doom beating the X-Men’s ass just like the first Ultimate Alliance game,” added Big Paleontologist520.

“That is an easy way to establish how badass Doom is - single handedly finishing off an established superhero team,” added InnocentTailor.

I actually think this is a decent theory.

Yes, it’s assumed that we may be entering a ‘Mutant Saga’ when the current ‘Multiverse Saga’ is wrapped up, but don’t you think that Marvel will want to put its own stamp on things when it comes to the MCU’s X-Men?

I could see Doomsday inviting the old Fox cohort back only to see them off to prove Doom’s power.

Of course, it’s just a theory. All we know for certain is that a courtyard ends up trashed.

I sense this won’t be the last leak we’ll see.
