MCU fans losing their minds as iconic Avenger teases return

I mean, c'mon, their return is obvious, right?

One of the biggest names yet to be officially attached to the next big Marvel Cinematic Universe project, Avengers: Doomsday, may have just not so subtly teased their return…

It seems like half of Hollywood is set to star in Avengers: Doomsday at this point, but that’s probably because two-thirds of Hollywood has featured in one of Disney’s Marvel films in one way or another.

However, that makes certain omissions all the weirder. They’re throwing everything but the kitchen sink at this film, so why aren’t the likes of Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange and Tom Holland's Spider-Man set to appear? Maybe they’re saving certain big names for the follow-up, Avengers: Secret Wars?

Well, it seems they’re not saving one actor for the sequel, based on recent cryptic posts they’ve made on Instagram.

As revealed in a post by The Direct's Lauren Rouse, Brie Larson (better known to MCU fans as Captain Marvel) has once again spurred rumours that she'll be reprising her role in Avengers: Doomsday with a new Instagram post.

The post from Larson's official Instagram shows the actor enjoying a day out with friends at Universal's opening of their Epic Universe park in Orlando, Florida, alongside what appears to be custom artwork that states the words “DANVERS” and “AVENGE”.

This follows on from another post Larson made back at the start of May, in which she stated that it was “time for a new chapter”.

It really does make a lot of sense for Captain Marvel to pop back up in Avengers: Doomsday, considering that she is probably the strongest Avenger that Earth has. It’s either her or Thor, and I’ll let the dorks argue out which one it is in the comments.

Either way, they’re gonna need a heavy hitter like Carol Danvers if they hope to stand a chance against Doom. I’d say the odds of seeing her in either Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars are very, very high.
