Avengers: Doomsday will see some of our favourite Marvel heroes come together for the first time since 2019 but thanks to a recent tease, some fans are already concerned about the fate of a beloved character.

Set to arrive in cinemas on 1 May 2026, Avengers: Doomsday will mark the first Avengers movie in MCU’s Phase Six as well as the first Avengers entry since Avengers: Endgame blew fan’s minds back in 2019.

We already know that characters such as Sam Wilson, Bucky Barnes, Thor, Shuri, Shang Chi and many more will be teaming up to face off against Robert Downey Jr. 's Doctor Doom but other than that, we are pretty in the dark about the fate of our beloved heroes.

However, thanks to a recent social media post by Thor’s Chris Hemsworth, Avengers: Doomsday could spell the end for our God of Thunder.

Posted overnight, Hemsworth posted a video to his Youtube channel titled ‘Thank You! The Legacy of Thor” which consisted of some of his memories on the set of the many Marvel movies he has appeared in.

Not only that but he released a statement thanking Marvel fans for supporting him as Thor over the past decade.

“Playing Thor has been one of the greatest honuors of my life, he shared.

“For the last 15 years I’ve held Mjolnir and then Stormbreaker as the God of Thunder, but what made it truly special… was sharing it with all of you.

Your passion, your cheers, and your love for this character have meant everything to me…

Thank you for making my journey through the MCU unforgettable. Next up, Doomsday!”

Although the actor was just feeling sentimental on a Wednesday evening, fans think this means that his fate is sealed for the events of Avengers: Doomsday.

“Oh, he got the script pages of Thor dying today didn't he?” one user joked over on r/marvelstudios.

User TheGreatTitanThanos added, “Just what I was thinking.

Doom ends up taking out Thor in the first 20 minutes of the film (Just like he did to Thanos in the comics). Then all hero's scramble across the multiverse to assemble a new team.

Hope we get a good Loki & Thor reunion before that happens though. Would love to see them together again.”

If Thor meets his demise in Avengers: Doomsday, it will be a heartbreaking day for fans.
