MCU fans heartbroken as they realise 2 major Avengers never actually interacted

Let the realisation dawn on you

With the Marvel Cinematic Universe being full to the brim with different characters, it is sometimes easy to forget that not all heroes or villains will come into contact with each other.

That is definitely the case for two fan-favourite heroes who fans have recently discovered never actually interacted throughout any of the Marvel movies.

Thunderbolts* is next in line.

The MCU is about to head into Phase 6 and that means a big shake-up when it comes to our Avengers.

With Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars expected to hit cinemas in 2026 and 2027 respectively, it won’t be long until we find out our brand-new line-up but for now, fans are taking a look back to previous phases.

As a result, they have discovered that Thor and Spider-Man never actually interacted throughout any of the movies.

It seems bizarre considering that they are both key figures but circumstances meant that the two never exchanged a word, at least as far as fans can remember.

This comes after one fan took to r/MCUTheories to ask, “I just realised, did these two ever interact? I can’t remember a single moment when they exchanged words,” alongside images of the two.

It wasn’t long before the comments started flying in, with one fan explaining how Thor and Spider-Man managed to miss each other each time.

“From Civil War (when Spider-Man is introduced) to Infinity War, they’re never on the same planet at the same time,” user zionapes explained.

“Then Peter gets snapped away on Titan while Thor is on Earth. When Peter is snapped back and then portals back to Earth during the final battle in Endgame, they’re never shown directly interacting. They stand close to each other at Tony Stark’s funeral, and then Thor leaves Earth again."

"Other than that, the closest is when Spider-Man webs onto Mjølnir when they’re playing football with the Infinity Gauntlet, and even that was thrown by Captain America.

So basically no, unless it happened off screen," they continued.

It is bizarre to think about but it does all add up when you think back.

It is also a shame considering the fact that Spider-Man idolises all of the older Avengers but who knows? Maybe we will see it in a crossover in the future.
