MCU fans hyped as Doctor Doom's first appearance officially revealed

Robert Doomy Jr. will appear soon

Even though we’re a month away from seeing The Fantastic Four finally make their MCU debut, pretty much all the chatter is about Doctor Doom as fans look toward the next big Marvel cinema event.

With Doctor Doom traditionally being a Fantastic Four villain, many fans expect to see the big bad appear at the end of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, however, it doesn’t look like that will happen.

Reported on Twitter, via Empire, director Matt Shakman stated that Doctor Doom will not appear in the film.

Now, let’s be honest, that doesn’t really mean anything, as fans over on Reddit explain.

“20 bucks says his shadow/silhouette or a doom bot shows up instead of Doom, so it still counts as true,” said Patient-Professor611.

It does feel a little odd that Doom hasn’t shown up at all, despite the presence of Thanos building over several films.

This has some thinking that he’ll at least get a mention in the films leading up to Avengers: DOOMSDAY.

However, we have to remember, Robert Downey Jr. is playing Doom, and it’s been said that he’s the only person who can play this version of Doom, which likely means he’s tied to Tony Stark, not Victor Von Doom.

In reply to the above Redditor, Pastry_d_Pounder said, “20 bucks he actually shows up but technically not as Doom but AU Tony Stark.”

I feel like that’s a safe $20, to be honest.

Others still believe that Victor will show up, with one fan saying, “I’d be cool with Johnny asking Reed if Victor is behind Galactus showing up.”

Another user notes that Marvel wouldn’t tell us if Doom was going to appear as it would spoil the moment, and they go on to say, “F4 production was well along when RDJ was announced. But it is pretty easy to add something post credit.”

I’d be surprised if he doesn’t appear. Plus, Shakman said he’s not in the film, he didn’t say anything about the post-credit scenes.
