MCU's next Disney Plus series is a sequel we've been begging for

Disney Plus prepares for war

Fans of The Punisher will be delighted with this news for the upcoming MCU series on Disney Plus.

Before Disney Plus graced us with its presence, Netflix was the place for the best Marvel live-action series with the likes of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, The Punisher and more. Now, all the stories of The Defenders franchise can be found on Disney Plus.

Check out The Punisher trailer below!

However, Disney Plus is going a step further by not only featuring all of The Defenders series on the streaming platform, but some of those favourite properties are getting a reboot beginning with Daredevil: Born Again arriving in just two months.

Daredevil: Born Again will see Charlie Cox reprise his role as Matthew Murdock aka the “Man without Fear”. What’s more, his loyal buddies Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) will both be returning.

Furthermore, Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio) and Frank Castle aka The Punisher (Jon Bernthal), are expected to reprise their roles in Daredevil: Born Again but the latter of which will also be getting his own series once more.

It’s fair to say that The Punisher on Netflix was a very violent series and despite Disney Plus already offering a plethora of mature content such as Aliens, The Walking Dead and Deadpool, some may have been concerned that the antics of Frank Castle may be too much for the platform.

If you are one of those with such concerns, then fear not, because as reported by CBM.com, entertainment insider BeyondReporter claims that not only will Daredevil: Born Again be season four of the Netflix series, but The Punisher will also be its season three.

Of course, these are unconfirmed rumours at this time but if The Punisher is a direct continuation of the Netflix series, hopefully, it also means that its violence will not be toned down.

That is not all, because it’s claimed that depending on the success of Daredevil: Born Again we may even get a fourth season of Jessica Jones with Krysten Ritter reprising her role as the troubled, yet incredibly powerful private investigator.

Fingers crossed all these rumours will begin to unravel when Daredevil: Born Again arrives on Disney Plus on 4 March 2025.
