MCU fans seriously torn over Captain America 4 first reviews

Mixed opinions

The early reviews for the next Captain America film are in, and they’re causing quite a stir amongst MCU fans.

Captain America: Brave New World is Sam Wilson’s first full-on adventure as Captain America, previously Falcon, and sees him unravel a web of lies and manipulations that threaten to destroy the world.

You can see as much in the film’s action-packed trailer

Aside from Sam getting a new suit and further mastering the star-spangled shield without a super-soldier serum in his blood we’re also getting Red Hulk, played by Harrison Ford.

Sounds like a good time, though fans are sceptical of the film\s quality as early reviews are either calling it some of the best MCU content we’ve had so far, or some of the worst.

Personally, I like the look of the story, and seeing Red Hulk in the MCU is a great day for Hulk fans, though some of the action scenes shown in the trailer and promotional clips do give off a weird vibe.

You can hear some critiques of the film on X from those who got screenings, and fans yet to see it have been discussing those critiques on Reddit.

In one thread a fan chalked some of the criticism up to critics just not vibing with the current MCU, almost looking for reasons to hate it. They said “Some of the reactions are so damn cynical and straight up mean but I guess it’s to be expected.”

Another added a positive angle, saying “I’m hearing great things about BNW!!!! The ones that are still so-so seem like they're trying as hard as they can to hate on what looks like another BANGER for Marvel.”

Luckily it won’t be long until we can see what it’s like for ourselves, as the film releases in cinemas on 14 February, which is this Friday.
