The Marvel Cinematic Universe might be bringing back T’Challa’s version of Black Panther as it dives further into its multiverse hijinxs.
The last time we saw this version of the character was in Avengers: Endgame, played by the late Chadwick Boseman who tragically passed away back in August 2020.
Out of respect for Boseman’s love for the character, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever introduced a new version of the hero through T’Challa’s sister Shuri, played by Letitia Wright. An in-universe explanation for T’Challa’s disappearance was devised, with the character succumbing to an unnamed illness.

While the main MCU Black Panther will continue to be Shuri, soon to reappear in Avengers: Doomsday, T’Challa is said to be returning through an alternate universe variant.
Furthermore, it’s believed actor Damson Idris has been in talks with Marvel Studios for the role. In an interview where he was asked about potentially joining the MCU, Idris said, “Yes-no!”
Personally, I think he’d be a great choice, and it’d be nice to see T’Challa return to the MCU as long as Boseman’s legacy in the role remains intact.
Fans are also in support of the potential casting, with one declaring, “He definitely will murk it. The accent will come naturally as well.”

More fans praised the casting saying things like, “God I really hope he actually is because this is legendary casting.”
There are, however, some that feel T’Challa’s story is done and doesn’t need to be continued in any capacity. “Can we just leave the Black Panther character alone. It was played by one of the greatest actors and they left a huge legacy that no one can and should replace,” read one comment with a lot of replies.
In any case, Black Panther will return to the MCU soon enough, in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars before receiving a third film sometime after.
