This is rather compelling evidence

Deadpool & Wolverine was, as I’m sure you’re aware, a colossal success.

It’s with that in mind that many of us are expecting both titular characters to resurface in the MCU at one point or another.

Many Marvel fans have, in particular, been theorising that Wolverine might have a major role to play in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday.

To date though, there’s been no evidence to add weight to what is essentially a hunch.

Nor can we say for certain whether Jackman’s is the Wolverine iteration that may return, as let’s not forget that Henry Cavill also briefly portrayed the role.

It appears though that our hunch may be right, as a recent career development for Hugh Jackman could just be the evidence we’ve been seeking.

Captain America: Brave New World launches next week on 14 February.

It’s believed that filming on Avengers: Doomsday is set to get underway this spring and summer, which is cutting it fine considering the film is due out on 1 May next year.

It’s with this in mind that I’ll inform you that Hugh Jackman has just cancelled a planned concert in London’s Hyde Park due to be held on 6 July.

Of course, this is hugely disappointing for those who were due to attend.

The concert was part of the BST Hyde Park series of events.

Announcing the cancellation, Hugh tweeted, “Due to an unforeseen conflict in my schedule, I am deeply disappointed to announce I will be unable to perform in Hyde Park this July 6th."

The belief is that the actor will be busy filming Doomsday, although why this would be “unexpected” remains a mystery.

Could it be that Doomsday’s script has only just been finalised? Perhaps Hugh thought filming was due to kick off later in the year?

Of course, this is all speculative but you can see the theory here.

I’m sure more will emerge about Doomsday as filming does get underway, no matter how hard Marvel tries to keep it under wraps.

If you are affected by the concert cancellation, ticket holders are due to be automatically refunded with more information available on the BST Hyde Park website.
