Marvel fans are extra hyped with the MCU runtimes of Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. Just a heads up, you better stock up on the snacks and drinks to prepare.

Typically, a standard cinema movie can run for about 90 to 120 minutes. Unless we’re talking about The Lord of the Rings, in which case, you can expect at least 180 minutes give or take, when not considering the director’s cut versions.

In terms of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, you can expect at least a couple of hours or so when watching the latest adventures of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and friends.

That being said when it comes to the extra epic movies of the MCU, such as Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, you can expect something similar to the ballpark of The Lord of the Rings.

For example, Avengers: Infinity War has a runtime of 149 minutes while Avengers: Endgame runs for an extra meaty 181 minutes, and it looks like we can expect the same with a couple of the Phase 6 entries of the MCU.

As brought to our attention by the Twitter account DiscussingFilm (via Collider), MCU directors, Joe and Anthony Russo aka the Russo Brothers, have confirmed the runtimes for Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.

It’s been revealed that Avengers: Doomsday will run for about 150 minutes and Avengers: Secret Wars for about 180 minutes, putting both into Infinity War and Endgame territory.

“Really anticipated! Doesn’t even matter if it’s one hour,” said PauluzRFRM.

“Russo Brothers are cooking,” replied slotslv.

“Oh yes, now this is what we need!” exclaimed mtgproductionss.

However, despite the hype, some commenting on the thread fear that the runtime for Avengers: Secret Wars might not be long enough with some calling for two parts. I guess we’ll just have to wait to see how events play out on the silver screen.

At the time of writing, Avengers: Doomsday is expected to arrive in cinemas on 1 May 2026 and Avengers: Secret Wars on 7 May 2027.

The current MCU Phase 5 ends with Thunderbolts* on 2 May 2025 and then The Fantastic Four: First Steps begins Phase 6 on 25 July 2025.
