Marvel officially teases our new Venom ahead of The Last Dance

Venom’s last dance with Eddie Brook is coming, but fans didn’t expect to learn of the next Venom host so soon.

Or even before the film’s release.

This new Venom host isn’t related to the events of the film, and so how that storyline plays out still remains to be seen.

And as we know, others have played host to the symbiote before.

Still, this unknown character has Marvel fans intrigued.

All-New Venom writer, Al Ewing, discussed the new series with Polygon.

During the course of that interview, Ewing mentioned the different direction this story would take.

“We take a swing away from the big cosmic thing. The pendulum swings away from that and back into a much more intimate, character-based story,” they revealed.

Ewing promises some “twists” that they’ll “have fun” introducing into the series, but no mention of who exactly will be Venom’s new buddy.

They run through a possible list of suspects, like Rick Jones, and Madame Masque, a character who Ewing says is “another great suspect”, but they never give us much more than that.

Each time Ewing turns their attention to another possible candidate, the reasons why they’re an ideal fit sound just as convincing as the last.

“These are all just possibilities…” Ewing teased.

Will it be the journalist, the mayor, the sidekick, or someone else? Nobody but Ewing and Marvel knows, and they’re enjoying stringing us along for now.

All-New Venom is definitely living up to its name, that’s for certain.

We can but hope that whoever joins with Venom won’t infuriate fans as much as this Avengers: Doomsday teaser has. Lordy, the fans aren't happy!
