Marvel officially confirms Hulk's MCU return

Mark Ruffalo is reprising his role as The Hulk in 2024

Mark Ruffalo is reprising his role as The Hulk… this year. Actually, he’s technically already returned– you might just have missed it.

Thank you in advance to Lauren Rouse from The Direct for the original source!

In a bit of a change-up compared to previous seasons of the series, the third season of Disney’s animated series What If…? has actually brought the original actors of the Marvel characters back to reprise their roles.

That actually includes none other than Mark Ruffalo himself, who (unbeknownst to most prior to season three’s debut) played Bruce Banner in the latest episode of the series.

In the first episode of the season, "What If... the Hulk Fought the Mech Avengers?", Mark Ruffalo voiced Bruce Banner/The Hulk alongside many returning MCU actors.

The episode featured the likes of Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi and Oscar Isaac as Moon Knight.

Take a look at the new season's trailer below.

And, in case you missed it, the first episode of the final season actually dropped yesterday.

The second episode is already out too and, much like the episode before it, has brought back a lot of cast to reprise their roles, such as Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo and Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark.

The second episode also features James D'Arcy as Edwin Jarvis, who played the character in the TV series Agent Carter and also in Avengers: Endgame.

A new episode of What If…? will be dropping every day until the series conclusion on December 29.

That includes, surprisingly, Christmas Day, which will see the release of the episode "What If... Howard the Duck Got Hitched?" starring Seth Green as Howard the Duck, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, and Michael Rooker as Yondu Udonta.

Doesn’t sound particularly Christmassy but hey, at least it sounds goofy and fun.
