Marvel has unveiled its new Thor for the MCU in an epic trailer - and I’ve got to say, she’s a perfect fit for a Goddess of Thunder.

The Marvel world is no stranger to switching things up, even when it concerns some of its most popular comic book characters - and no better MCU series explores that notion quite like the Disney Plus animation, What If…?.

Check out the What If…? season three trailer below!

What’s If…? debuted on Disney Plus in August 2021. I think it’s fair to say that this animated series, set in the MCU, surprised fans with its compelling storytelling, which brought intrigue, suspense, comedy, and horror.

Sadly, however, this December will see the arrival the third and final season of What If…? and it’s going out with a bang or I should say, it’s going out with a storm. I won’t give any spoilers away for this series because if you’ve never watched it, I couldn't recommend it enough.

This week, Marvel released the first full trailer for What If…? season three and it did not disappoint. However, it’s the last few seconds of the trailer which have caught our attention, most of all with its alternate take on Thor.

The new Thor featured in the trailer is the legendary X-Men character Ororo Munroe, also known as Storm. “I am Storm, Goddess of Thunder,” she announces before she proceeds to battle with what looks to be an Architeuthis Dux, more commonly known as a Giant Squid.

This is not the first time that Storm has become the Goddess of Thunder. The first time that happened was in X-Men Annual #9 and then in X-Men Gold (2017) #25.

I’m not lying when I say that Storm appearing so epically as Thor in that trailer gave me goosebumps, and I can’t wait to see how events play out in season three of What If…?.

Season three of What If…? premieres on Disney Plus on 22 December and concludes on 29 December 2024.
