There’s no shortage of Marvel video games on the way.

This year will bring us Marvel Rivals, followed by Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra in 2025.

Motive is working on an Iron Man game, Cliffhanger on a Black Panther game, while Arkane Lyon is developing Marvel’s Blade.

Of course, I can’t forget Insomniac. The studio is hard at work on Marvel’s Wolverine but presumably Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 is in the works too, if not DLC for the second game.

Alongside all of this, it sounds as if we could soon get a brand new direct MCU video game tie-in after such a game was teased online.

Take a look at the impressive trailer for the aforementioned Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra below.

This particular leak comes courtesy of Cosmic Circus’ Alex Perez who was detailing Marvel’s new structure.

“So Studios [is] movies. Television [equals] shows that tie in and affect the course of the MCU,” they began.

“Spotlight [is] MCU adjacent shows with little to no tie into the MCU. Animation [is] free for all, and we already got an MCU adjacent video game in development. Interesting.”

No such game has yet been announced so I would urge you to take this leak with a pinch of salt.

Of course, fans are hard at work theorising what the project could be.

The dominant theory is that it could be a live service title. Yes, DC’s Suicide Squad: KIll The Justice League was a total flop but if done right, live service games are a lucrative source.

Personally, I’d love to see a single-player narrative-driven RPG, and I’m sure I’m not alone in that.

The concern is around just how closely such a game might tie into the MCU.

Not all those who enjoy MCU films and TV shows will also game. You don’t want to lock important plot points behind a video game with that in mind.

Whatever happens, it’s clear that the MCU will continue to expand. I just hope we can keep up.
