Marvel accidentally teases return of beloved MCU hero

Sometimes the best that we can do, is to start over

One of the most beloved Marvel characters could be set for a triumphant return in the MCU and we really hope it’s true.

This year, Marvel Comics celebrates its 85th birthday and since 1939 we’ve been blessed with epic tales that made us laugh, cry and be angry with characters such as Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, Phoenix, Black Widow and more.

Check out the 85 Years of Marvel trailer below!

Marvel was founded by Michael Goodman, but I think most of us can agree that we owe our thanks to the late, great Stan Lee and Jack Kirby for giving us many wonderful childhood memories that will continue to inspire generations long after we’ve left this planet we call Earth.

However, when the Marvel Cinematic Universe became a thing with Iron Man starring Robert Downey Jr. in 2008, it welcomed a new legion of loyal fans who may never have read a Marvel comic before. That’s the wonderful thing about Marvel, it doesn't matter where we get our goodness from, we all have favourite characters we adore that in one form or another, have come and gone.

One such character, at least in the MCU is Peggy Carter, aka Agent Carter played by Hayley Atwell who is the new Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider Netflix series. Other than starring in Captain America: The First Avenger, The Winter Soldier and Avengers: Endgame, Peggy Carter also once had a live-action TV series.

Set in the mid-1940s, I thought Agent Carter was a fun show when it first aired in 2015, it was certainly a show enjoyed by my wife and I. Sadly, Agent Carter came to an abrupt end when it was cancelled after just two seasons in 2016.

However, a recent ‘85 Years of Marvel’ trailer might hint at Peggy Carter's return. Granted, she did appear in some What If…? episodes on Disney Plus as well as a cameo in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness but could we now see Peggy get a new live-action series once more?

In a section of the trailer sub-titled “And we’re just getting started” which features Professor Charles Xavier and Shuri, we also see Agent Carter looking badass. Sure, this could mean nothing but it’s intriguing nonetheless that she would be featured in this segment of the trailer.

The trailer also gives us a new look at Harrison Ford’s Red Hulk in Captain America: New World Order, the Thunderbolts movie as well as Daredevil: Born Again. It’s a fantastic trailer and I certainly recommend checking it out.

We’ll keep you posted if we hear of further news related to the potential return of Agent Carter. In the meantime, we can watch the two seasons of Agent Carter on Disney Plus.
