Marvel finally gives us first look at MCU's new Blade

What If...?

With the official Blade MCU film still up in the air, fans have been eager to see Oscar winner Mahershala Ali finally become the day-walker.

So far, we’ve only heard Ali as Blade, as he spoke at the end of Eternals, but since then it’s all been quiet.

Our next look at Blade will likely come in video game form rather than film

Well, there have been many changes behind the scenes, with fans now doubting we’ll ever get to see Blade on the big screen.

However, we can get sneaky look at one iteration of Blade, courtesy of artist Justin Kim, who designed a mash-up of Blade and Moon Knight for season three of What If…?

While the character never made to screens, he was shown in the final moments as another potential character out there in the multiverse.

Kim shows off the images on Instagram, and shifts the iconic Moon Knight costume into darker tones, more suited to Blade.

Kim notes, “I had the privilege of designing Blade as Moon Knight. My goal was to utilize the wrappings of Moon Knight to create sharp shapes and make it seem like he could pull a blade from anywhere on his body. I also figured both characters alluded to being a sort of ninja, so I pushed that archetype.”

Viewers only got a tiny glimpse of Ali as Blade/Moon Knight in the show, so this gives us a much better look at what could have been.

Hopefully, Marvel pushes into this idea in the future, as seeing Ali realised in animation and illustration shows how good he would look in the role.

If this look has you hyped, then you’ll be thrilled to know that this character will appear in Marvel’s Zombies, though it’s not known how big the role will be.

Who knows if or when we’ll actually see a film bringing Blade to the MCU - this might just be it, for now.
