The Multiverse Saga has finally won over fans.
Fair to say, Marvel has taken a few missteps in recent years, but execs are beginning to understand what it is that fans like.
Kang wasn’t on that list, so it’s out with the old and in with the new - and that’s without taking the allegations made against Jonathan Majors into account.

As I’m sure you’re aware, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is now Avengers: Doomsday, with Robert Downey Jr set to portray Victor Von Doom.
Marvel’s also clearly focusing on just publicising a few projects at a time instead of unveiling a 10-year slate which I think is the right call.
One area in which The Multiverse Saga has excelled though is in its introduction of new characters.
Marvel’s casting directors know how to nail it. From Simu Liu as Shang-Chi to Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel, there has been some pitch perfect casting in this saga.

Perhaps the character that’s garnered the best reception though has been Black Widows’ Yelena Belova, portrayed by Florence Pugh.
It’s come to light though that another actress almost nabbed the role.
ICYMI: The first trailer for Thunderbolts* has now dropped. You can take a look below.
Pugh is magical in the role, becoming a quick fan-favourite.

It’s no surprise that Yelena was brought back for Hawkeye and as a lead in the upcoming Thunderbolts* - and I’m sure her future in the MCU is bright beyond that.
However, it’s long been rumoured that the role was once offered to Saoirse Ronan - or at least that she was in the running, alongside Pugh.
In a recent appearance on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast, Ronan said, “How did you hear about that?”
“I can’t see myself doing Marvel,” she coyly responded. “I don’t … No, I would prefer to do Bond.”

“There’s nothing wrong with [Marvel] and I think they’re brilliant films. I want to do more big movies. I’m at the point where I’ve done… I love making independent film, I really do, but to know — especially in this landscape that we’re in, in film right now — to know that a film is going to be seen is such a luxury,” she continued.
I’m sure Marvel could find a great role for Ronan should she ever change her mind but for now, it doesn’t look as if her sights are set on the MCU.
