Marvel is bringing back two beloved Avengers stories, probably to hype up all the multiverse shenanigans going on in the MCU right now.
As far as cinematic universes go, Marvel still has a healthy lead considering DC had to drop its film franchise partway through and reboot with James Gunn.

But while you’re heading to the cinema to watch the latest superhero flick, it’s wise to brush up on the comic stories they’re based on, and Marvel is re-releasing two bangers very soon.

Marvel will soon be reprinting the first chapter in the Secret War storyline, as well as the New Avengers in brand-new omnibus collections.
Before you get the wrong idea, it’s the Secret War comic we’re talking about, not Secret Wars, the latter of which being the multiverse epic that’ll soon be getting a big-screen adaptation.
The Secret War storyline sees Nick Fury assemble a team consisting of Captain America, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Luke Cage, Daredevil, and Black Widow, in an attempt to overthrow Doctor Doom and the Latverian government.
The New Avengers on the other hand is a story that follows the superhero team after it was disbanded, shortly after a confirmation with Scarlet Witch.

Street-level heroes like Spider-Man, Spider-Woman, and Luke Cage join the team to replace some of its more prominent members, like Thor and Ant Man, though Captain America and Iron Man remain.
Both comic book storylines will be reprinted in their own omnibus collections sometime in 2025, though exact release dates haven’t been shared at the time of writing.
With the Marvel Cinematic Universe on the cusp of massive changes with the likes of Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars on the release schedule, these would be good comics to read since they could hint at what’ll come next after RTD’s Doctor Doom is thwarted.
