Marvel quietly casting major character for Avengers: Secret Wars
Who could it be?
Marvel Studios is, of course, building an Avengers team on the quiet ready for Avengers: DOOMSDAY and Avengers: Secret Wars.
According to known leaker DanielRPK, the studio is currently holding auditions with the aim to fill the shoes of a “well known character.”
Storm will be appearing in Marvel's What If...? final season, so perhaps she has a bigger role to come?

Fans want to know who is this “well known character” could be.
Considering we already have so many, it does narrow down the field somewhat.
However, Marvel have so many characters it leaves a huge number still to come. Who is major enough to be cast in secret and can hold enough power for Avengers: Secret Wars?
Symbiotic_vengeance over on Reddit has some thoughts, “‘Well known’ makes me think it’s not The Beyonder,” though The Beyonder is a big part of the original Secret Wars comic books.
They go on to suggest it will be Ghost Rider who finally gets an MCU debut.
Others are in agreement, however one name on the lips of many is Miles Morales.
Due to the concept of Avengers: Secret Wars, and the possibility of Doctor Doom merging all the timelines and multiverses, it would make for a great time to introduce Miles to the MCU.
ProfessorX1 suggests this as part of their list, “Miles Morales (gotta be the most famous Marvel character not yet introduced.)”
While others are throwing around Storm from X-Men as another possibility, “Storm is the widest known comic character hero that hasn't hit the MCU yet, it would be amazing if it were her.”
A wild theory, one that has been mentioned several times since Robert Downey Jr was cast is suggested by Felipenz_1983 who says “Plot twist they are casting the real doctor doom.”
This being the theory that RDJ is a bait and switch, playing a variant of Doom before the real Doom shows up later in the film.
Personally, I think it’ll be Professor X. If the Mutant Saga is next, we’re going to need to set up the X-Men with the man who guides them all.
