Marvel fans work out which Avenger holds record for most MCU post-credit appearances

It's an impressive number of appearances

There have been many post-credit and mid-credit scenes over the history of the MCU and fans have worked out which Avenger has appeared in the most.

It came down to Chris Evans who played Captain America, who popped up in seven appearances.

We've played Star Wars Outlaws and loved every minute of it.

This comes after his role in Deadpool and Wolverine which saw that total increase by one as he turned up to deliver an expletive-laden speech after the credits rolled.

Marvel made post-credit stings popular and since then, practically every film with a pop culture slant has to tease upcoming projects the same way.

But sometimes the stingers aren’t to tease, they’re just to entertain the crowd after sticking around through the credits.

This was certainly the case for Deadpool and Wolverine, but Chris Evans also turned up for Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Captain America is a character whose popularity grew over the course of the Infinity Saga, from Captain America: The First Avenger to Avengers: Endgame, and showcased Evans’ skills as a comedic and dramatic actor.

Cap was always an essential part of the MCU and he pipped Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury who also has a high count for post-credit stings.

Whether this record is broken over the years to come is hard to say. Surely nobody will overtake such an important actor for Marvel.

Of course, nothing is predictable in the world of superhero films. Nobody expected Robert Downey Jr to return, for example, and as a villain, no less.

This move opens the doors for many actors to return to beloved roles or new opportunities, so maybe we’ll see a new leader in post-credit rankings.

In the multiverse, with so many variants floating around, maybe Chris Evans will appear again to tee up the next saga to follow after Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
