The popular MCU character Loki has made an unexpected return that many of us may have missed.
As soon as the MCU’s version of Loki (played by Tom Hiddleston) made his debut in Thor (2011), despite his villainous ways, his mischievous charm was quick to win over Marvel fans.

So by the time we got to season two of the Loki series in October 2023, he was less of a villain and much more of a hero, leaving fans tearful following the epic conclusion of the Disney Plus series.
Understandably, fans are eager to see the triumphant return of Loki in the live-action MCU and while we don't know for sure whether that will happen just yet, we can get a much-needed dose of the lovable character in the third and final season of What If…?
Before we proceed, there will be spoilers ahead for episode seven ‘What if…? The Watcher Disappeared’ in season three. That being said, as reported by The Direct, Loki is back.
This is the first time that Loki has returned in an official MCU capacity since the conclusion of Loki season two and in typical What If…? fashion, it offers an alternative take on the Loki character from Marvel’s infinite multiverse. What’s more, Tom Hiddleston has returned to voice the character.
Not for the first time in What If…? Loki is a Frost Giant from Jotunheim which plays on the prospect of what if Odin never took Loki to Asgard to raise as his son alongside Thor.
I won't discuss the events of that episode any further because if you’ve not watched the seventh episode of What If…? yet, you need to change that ASAP.
