The MCU has teased its “new” Iron Man, but you’ll be surprised to hear that it has nothing to do with Ironheart.
The first trailer for the Disney+ series Ironheart was shown off yesterday and I think it’s safe to say, there’s very little interest in the series despite it coming from the same team that brought us both Black Panther films.
See the trailer below.
Riri Williams, AKA Ironheart, is Iron Man’s replacement in the comics but the series seemingly has nothing to do with Tony Stark, but *Thunderbolts does somehow.

Marvel’s latest superhero team-up film absolutely slapped - arguably one of the best additions to the MCU’s repertoire in years and the team recently got promoted to The New Avengers.
A teaser poster was released to market the new team, with the tagline, “Be careful who you assemble,” with each character standing over a silhouette of a former Avenger.
For some strange reason, Bucky’s silhouette is that of Iron Man, which is an interesting choice considering they nearly killed each other in Captain America: Civil War, and never really got a chance to clear the air afterwards…
I guess you could argue they’re both powerhouses of their respective teams, and Bucky has his fancy vibranium arm so I guess that sort of checks off the technology box.

Iron Man is rumoured to return in Avengers: Doomsday/Avengers: Secret Wars as a variant so perhaps we’ll see the pair clash again at some point.
The most interesting part of The New Avengers so far is that they’re a different team to the actual Avengers, as the post-credit scene of *Thunderbolts revealed Sam Wilson, AKA Captain America, has assembled his own team and it’s put a wedge between himself and Bucky as a result.
Perhaps we’ll see the two teams clash in the next Avengers films before eventually teaming up to face an actual threat, Doom.
