The MCU will apparently welcome Doctor Strange back into the fold with the next Avengers film, despite Benedict Cumberbatch recently saying he wasn’t in the next one.
The last time we saw Doctor Strange was in his own film, Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness, which gave us a post-credit scene setting up his next Marvel appearance.

There’s been no update on when he’ll get his next solo-outing, leaving Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars as the next potential films he could appear in.
Recently Benedict Cumberbatch said he’s not in Avengers: Doomsday, but has since changed his tune in an interview with Business Insider.
Cumberbatch said, “I got that wrong, I am in the next one … Don’t ever believe anything I say.”
Pretty ironic considering he’s starred alongside Tom Holland in several MCU films now, with Holland being a prolific movie spoiler. There have been plenty of instances of Holland saying something he shouldn’t have, one of which Cumberbatch was actually there for who quickly stepped in to silence him.
As you can expect though this has just confused MCU fans further, with one commenting in a Reddit thread, “So should I believe him now?”
“Now you're getting it,” replied another commenter, once again proving that even the actors themselves shouldn’t be taken at face value when it comes to MCU secrets.
As for what Doctor Strange’s role could be in the next Avengers films, that remains a mystery, but he is one of the most powerful heroes in the MCU at the moment so he’s bound to play a large role.
Many have pegged him to be the next leader of the Avengers but that seems out of character, and he’ll likely take a more of an advisor/support role like he did in Avengers: Infinity War, or my Marvel Rivals games.
