Deadpool officially joins the Avengers in surprise new movie

It's a fresh take on the beloved merc-with-a-mouth

It appears as if Deadpool has already returned, following the success of Deadpool & Wolverine.

Although this latest iteration of the merc-with-a-mouth is far more, let’s say, family friendly.

That’s because Wade Wilson’s latest appearance is the newly released LEGO Marvel Avengers: Mission Demolition.

“After battles, Damage Control cleans up messes. But when a villain targets the Avengers, an unlikely hero - a clumsy worker who breaks everything - might be Earth's only hope to become the hero he dreams of and save Earth's Heroes,” reads the film’s synopsis.

While LEGO projects are, of course, made with younger viewers in mind, that doesn’t mean that us adult folk cannot enjoy them too.

Whether it’s a game or film, I always get a good chuckle out of the media that LEGO puts out.

In fact, I put an ungodly number of hours into LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, and I’ll be hoping to do the same with the release of the game LEGO Horizon Adventures next month.

Take a look at LEGO Marvel Avengers: Mission Demolition in action below.

This new Marvel LEGO project also marks the return of She-Hulk, sporting a very similar look to her MCU counterpart.

This film may not exactly be canon to the MCU, but it’s clear to see the impact the MCU is having on the wider world of Marvel.

Even the comic book iteration of Thanos recently ditched his clobber and began sporting the outfit created specifically for the MCU’s Infinity War and Endgame.

I should add that you shouldn’t expect to hear the voice of Ryan Reynolds in this particular project.

Instead, Deadpool will be voiced by Jason Mantzoukas.

As far as I can see, this is the actor’s debut outing as Deadpool so it’s nice to hear a fresh take on this beloved character.

Of course, if you’re yearning for more of Ryan Reynolds, it may not be too long until you can see him back in action.

If a sequence of images posted online by Reynolds himself are anything to do by, fans are convinced that Deadpool may be returning for a Christmas special.

That certainly would be fun but for now, we can enjoy LEGO Marvel Avengers: Mission Demolition.
