Our first-look at Daredevil: Born Again has been dropped by Marvel Studios, and what a monumental day it is for fans of the cancelled Netflix series.

The trailer gave us a glimpse into where our heroes are nowadays, and hints at a major event in Matt Murdock’s life that turned him away from his life as a vigilante.

Something immediately noticeable in the trailer is how much more mature the action segments look, as we see Matt Murdock and Daredevil laying down the law on various criminals.

It’s much more violent than it was in the Netflix days, but fans of that show will be happy to hear Daredevil: Born Again will usher in a brand-new one-take fight scene.

In an interview between myself and Charlie Cox, who plays Matt Murdock/Daredevil, I asked if returning fans can expect another iconic action scene to add to their collection.

With a facial expression that I can only describe as immense pride and joy, Cox replied with an emphatic “We can! Yeah, yes.”

Throughout all three seasons fans were given a few fight scenes that were truly above and beyond anything we’d seen before in superhero media.

My personal favourite is probably the prison scene from the show’s third season, but they’re all fantastic in their own right so it’s just nice to hear Born Again will retain such a core part of the old show’s DNA.

The series will also bring back Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Deborah Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle AKA The Punisher.

Daredevil Born: Again will premiere on Disney+ on 5 March in the UK.
