It always felt like a matter of ‘when’ and not ‘if’ but even still, it’s nice to finally receive confirmation of this upcoming project.

It’s been revealed that a third Black Panther film is in the works, although it’s not yet known if Ryan Coogler will be returning as director this time around.

Coogler helmed both of the previous two instalments, but the director of the third remains as yet unconfirmed.

We also know that Nate Moore will be returning as a producer, which is actually how we know the film even exists.

Moore has decided to depart Marvel Studios, having served as a producer on a number of projects over the years including the likes of Black Panther and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Captain America: Civil War, Eternals, and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

In a report by Deadline, it was confirmed that Moore would step away from the MCU in early 2025 in order to embark on his own producing projects, but it was detailed that the exec would still be honouring his role as a producer on Black Panther 3.

Captain America: Brave New World is another project Moore worked on.

“Nate is a fantastic executive and colleague as well as a wonderful friend to all of us here at Marvel Studios,” Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige and Louis D’Esposito said in a statement to Deadline.

“He has been a core member of our team since 2010, and his influence will continue to reverberate in our storytelling. Although we’ll miss him a great deal, we look forward to watching what he does next while also having the good fortune of working with him in a new way on our next Black Panther movie.”

“Nearly everything I know about producing I’ve learned from my time at Marvel Studios,” Moore said.

“I feel lucky to have worked with a group of people who love filmmaking and storytelling as much as my Marvel colleagues and the cast and crew of our films. But I couldn’t be more excited to apply my experience and passion for film towards theatrical movies in all genres, including returning to the world of Wakanda for Black Panther 3.”

As for what else Black Panther 3 entails, I’m afraid we’re totally in the dark but now that the cat’s out of the bag, I’m imagining additional details will surface in the months to come.
