Avengers: Doomsday major deaths have MCU fans concerned

I don't feel so good

Avengers: DOOMSDAY has started shooting in London, with countless film stars jetting in to take part in the next big Marvel cinematic event.

The film is set to bring in a ridiculous number of MCU actors, ready to portray the heroes and villains we love, from the modern Avengers, all the way back to the 20th Century Fox X-Men.

Who from Thunderbolts* will make it through Avengers: Doomsday alive?

As part one of a duology of Avengers films, fans are wondering how many characters will die during the events and battles against Doctor Doom.

Avengers: Infinity War killed off half of the heroes (and the population of the universe) and it broke our hearts, so we’re sure Marvel is set to do it all over again.

Fans are starting to speculate on who they think will kick the bucket this time around, and there are plenty of characters to choose from.

In a thread on Reddit, one fan puts forward a selection of possible deaths - “Thor, Magneto, Namor, the OG X-Men, Bucky, Red Guardian, and Mbaku.”

All very possible deaths. I feel like the X-Men might be an obvious choice as we’re likely to see the multiverses merged, or even destroyed, for one true timeline and universe.

Some fans think certain heroes have run their course, and could be killed off, like this suggestion from RubiconPizzaDelivery, “Ant-Man is likely super toast. Scott's story is done and it makes sense. He got into hero work to protect his daughter, and now she's all grown up.”

One fan notes, “Nobody is safe if they're doing a soft reboot of the MCU in the wake of Secret Wars,” which is a very good point.

Technically, Marvel could recast anyone at this point, and change things up by killing off variants.

The possibilities are endless, with one fan saying, “I could see Thor dying, maybe Clint as well. If they wanna go even further, possibly Hulk in Secret Wars.”

This would make for a good ending to stars who want to move on from Marvel. Though, as alteredbeef notes, “I would be surprised if anyone dies permanently.”
