Avengers: Doomsday will have an Iron Man after all

We'll take it as a maybe

The cast of Avengers: Doomsday is full to the brim with some iconic Marvel superheroes; some familiar and some new to the Avengers fold.

According to our brand-new Iron Man, otherwise known as Ironheart, the iconic superhero may actually star in Avengers: Doomsday as one of the newer members.

Ironheart star Dominique Thorne has said that Riri Williams may star in the upcoming Avengers movie.

We can only imagine how strict the Marvel NDAs are but in a discussion with The Direct, Thorne at least hinted at Ironheart’s role in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.

"Oh, you know, what can I say? The odds might be in our favour. Who knows? We'll see. We'll see,” the actress said.

This may not be confirmation but it isn’t outright denial either. Maybe our next-generation Iron Man may don the suit and join our new Avengers.

We already know a wide selection of characters which will star in the upcoming Marvel team-up, but there are still some that are unaccounted for which is confusing considering that a lot of characters not included are from Marvel’s recent Disney+ shows.

For example, Kate Bishop, Kamala Khan, and Billy Maximoff are nowhere to be seen but who knows? Maybe they will merge with the Avengers after The Young Avengers.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit cinemas on 18 December 2026 following a recent delay.

However, the Russos are feeling very optimistic about the future of the franchise.

"Being able to create stories and explore characters within the Marvel Universe fulfilled a life-long dream of ours, and we discovered a powerful connection with audiences in each film that we made,” the pair said at a recent SDCC panel.

“We’re thrilled to collaborate once again with Kevin, Lou and the entire Marvel team to bring this epic adventure in storytelling to new and surprising places for both the fans and ourselves”.
