MCU fans torn over Avengers Doomsday Deadpool casting

There might be more to reveal?

A majority of the cast for Avengers: Doomsday has now been revealed, but one particular detail regarding Deadpool has left fans torn.

Last week, Marvel Studios revealed the main cast for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, which is due to release in cinemas next year.

The cast is completely packed with the biggest MCU stars, which includes the likes of Chris Hemsworth, Florence Pugh, and Paul Rudd. Robert Downey Jr. is also returning to the MCU in a new role as Victor Von Doom.

Despite this, it’s expected that Marvel also has a few surprise casting announcements kept under wraps.

For example, Mark Ruffalo and Brie Larson aren’t listed as part of the cast, which raises some questions.

Another casting detail that has left MCU fans torn over Avengers: Doomsday is the exclusion of Deadpool and Wolverine.

With last year’s Deadpool & Wolverine being a smash hit for Marvel and Disney, it’s come as a surprise to fans that the characters aren’t currently slated to appear in Doomsday.

Considering other original X-Men cast members like Ian McKellan and Patrick Stewart are returning, this makes the Hugh Jackman omission even more puzzling.

“I’m of the opinion that not everyone was revealed,” writes one MCU fan over on Reddit.

“A lot of characters appeared in Endgame that were not in IW [Infinity War]. They have to tell a story,” another comment wrote. “It’s not just gonna be a three hour cameo fest.”

“Let's remember that Doomsday is Part 1 to Secret Wars' Part 2,” a third wrote. “There's a better reason to wait and use them for Battleworld.”

It does seem like Marvel is holding back on some character appearances, either because they’re going to secretly appear as cameos or they’re being held until Secret Wars.

It’s quite amusing to remember back in 2012 people questioning how The Avengers would tell a coherent story with six core MCU characters, and now we have a cast of 30+ characters where people are upset about some being left out.
