Just mere weeks after we got our first look at Sophie Turner as Lara Croft in Amazon MGM Studios brand new Tomb Raider TV show, we’ve got our first look at some stunning on-set photos. We’re in for a treat!

Spotted filming in some rain-slicked woodlands of Surrey, UK, Sophie Turner wields her iconic dual pistols strapped securely to her thighs in heavy-duty tactical holsters. I’m looking respectfully - I think she looks awesome.

Even better, Sophie Turner was spotted performing her own stunts! Tom Cruise, eat your heart out.

Check them out below.

There’s been a bit of backlash to the hyper stylised first pictures we got a few weeks back. Personally, I think she looks amazing, but not everyone agreed.

But hopefully these new pictures prove this TV show will have all the grit and combat action we’ve come to love from the iconic franchise.

I love the fingerless gloves and signature long French braid we can see in the latest pictures, which some of you might recognise as a nod to the Angelina Jolie era. It’s giving a bit more special ops, with her rugged, tactical boots and cargo pants, which I’m here for.

Those stunts I mentioned earlier aren’t for the faint of heart. Sure, she’s not clinging to the side of a biplane, or hanging off the Burj Khalifa. Yet. But, my love for Mission Impossible aside, it certainly backs up the fact Turner’s been training eight hours a day for this role. Seeing her dangle from a parachute over a lake has my heart in my mouth. I, for one, can’t wait. You can watch the stunt footage here!

I was never in doubt, personally. Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who you might know from one of my favourite shows of all time, Fleabag, is the show's creator, writer, executive producer and co-showrunner. Her other credentials include Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, as well as Killing Eve. With all this in minds, I'm sure we're in for a harrowing, intelligent portrayal of the iconic Lara Croft.

The live-action Tomb Raider TV series currently doesn’t have a release window. It’s likely we can expect it to premiere in late 2026 or early 2027, considering it began production on January 19, 2026. Will you be watching?
