Kill Bill Vol. 1 is 20-years old, and fans still believe it’s one of the greatest action movies of all time.

Arguably one of Quentin Tarantino’s best films, Kill Bill Vol. 1 is the hyper-violent story of ‘The Bride’ who’s on a quest for vengeance after her former lover and his team of assassins betrayed her, leaving her in a four year coma.

Sony announced a brand-new version of the PS5, check it out below!

Audience reception was mixed, with some critics saying the film glorified gratuitous violence too much, whereas fans thought that was one of the movie’s best features.

Twenty years later though, fans still agree that it’s a top-tier film, and still superior to the hundreds of action films that followed it.

Taking to Twitter to celebrate the film’s anniversary, viewers had a lot to praise, from the gripping story to the extreme gore and Uma Thurman’s incredible performance as The Bride.

One fan said, “Uma Thurman was on point in this movie. Everyone agrees that the first movie was the best of them, right?" Another added, “You just had to be there. This franchise was sooooo talked about then. Imagine this being released during social media era.”

Finally, one fan stated, “It is absolutely CRIMINAL that we haven’t gotten Volume 3 yet.” Interestingly, Kill Bill was supposed to be one big film, but pressure was put on Tarantino to make a shorter cut. Instead, a compromise was made and the film was split into two releases.

Speaking about the decision, Tarantino said: “I'm talking about scenes that are some of the best scenes in the movie, but in this hurdling pace where you're trying to tell only one story, that would have been the stuff that would have had to go. But to me, that's kind of what the movie was, are these little detours and these little grace notes."

Tarantino has also said he’s thought about what a third film could look like, though isn’t sure if he wants to commit to anything yet, as he’s previously said his upcoming film, The Movie Critic, could be his last.
