Amazon’s God of War live-action series may have leaked the casting for Baldur and Thor, and we think it’s pretty spot on.
A God of War television series was confirmed for Amazon Prime Video back in 2022, but it’s only been in the last few months that bigger updates seem to have been made.
Back in October we saw leaked casting calls for various roles that would appear in the show’s first season, using codenames for each part.
While it wasn’t too hard to piece it all together, the leak did confirm that Amazon was looking at adapting parts of both games in the Norse saga of God of War. It seems that the show may also be ignoring the Greek trilogy, or at least only referencing it via flashbacks.

Last week, we reported on a potential casting shortlist for who could be playing Kratos in the series.
The list includes the likes of Winston Duke, Joe Manganiello, and Jason Momoa. Even Kratos’ motion capture and voice performer in the games, Christopher Judge, seems to be on the shortlist for the role.

Who Is Playing Baldur And Thor In The God Of War Series?
The leaks don’t stop there though, as we also now may know the actors playing Odin’s sons, Baldur and Thor, in the upcoming series.
According to Hollywood insider Daniel Richtman (DanielRPK), Baldur will be played by Max Parker while Thor is being portrayed by Olafur Darri Olafsson.
Max Parker is an English actor best known to us Brits for playing Luke Posner in Emmerdale between 2019 and 2021. Since leaving Emmerdale, he’s had roles in Doctor Who, Vampire Academy and the recent Netflix series, Boots.
The actor is in excellent physical shape, while not necessarily being a huge hulk of a man, which is what makes Baldur such an interesting adversary in God of War, so we reckon Parker is the perfect fit for the role.
Olafur Darri Olafsson, on the other hand, is an actor with a history of starring in many different Hollywood productions.
You may recognise him from Severance, in which he played the physically imposing enforcer Mr. Drummond.
Given Olafsson’s large stature and impressive beard, there’s no doubt that he’d make a perfect Thor. In God of War: Ragnarok, Thor appears as a large, muscular brute, and acts as vengeful nemesis to Kratos and Atreus during the game’s events.
We’re likely to hear about more roles in the God of War series being filled out over the next few months, including the actors who’ll be portraying Atreus, Freyr, Odin, and Tyr.
