Game of Thrones star Kit Harington discusses 'rushed' final season's mistakes

Jon Snow apparently does know something

Few Game of Thrones fans will disagree that mistakes were made with the final season of the show.

Now Game of Thrones star Kit Harington has voiced his opinions on the finale that caused such controversy.

With House of the Dragon coming to an end much sooner than we anticipated, we’re once again discussing the missteps of the past when it comes to creative direction.

During an interview with GQ, Harington addressed the flaws of the beloved HBO TV series.

How will House of the Dragon end?

“I think if there was any fault with the end of Thrones, is that we were all so f**king tired, we couldn’t have gone on longer,” the Jon Snow actor revealed.

“I understand some people thought it was rushed, and I might agree with them. But I’m not sure there was any alternative. I look at pictures of me in that final season and I look exhausted. I look spent. I didn’t have another season in me.”

This isn’t the first time the casts’ reactions about the finale have been discussed; ever since it aired, fans have debated how unhappy the actors looked during those final months.

On Reddit, many users agreed that the majority of them appeared “pretty unhappy”.

When asked about how fans, and the internet in general, reacted to season eight, Harington said, “Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I think there were mistakes made, story-wise, towards the end maybe. I think there were some interesting choices that didn’t quite work.”

A very diplomatic response that avoided igniting the ire of the fandom once more.

While the past cannot be changed, there’s still hope when it comes to the future of Game of Thrones.

Having recently unleashed a surprise teaser for a brand new series, fans are interested to see how accurately the novels translate on screen.

We hope that there’ll be no more “rushed” finales that embitter the fandom further; all we want is for a finale befitting the characters we know and love (or hate).
