Thousands Of Pounds Worth Of Retro Games Have Been Discovered In Storage

A video game store in Nebraska shut down in the 90s, leaving a whole load of classic games in its wake with the titles being put into storage and left for over two decades. Now, the figurative gold mine has been uncovered including open and sealed games for older systems such as the SNES, Mega Drive and Saturn.

As uncovered by GameRoom (thanks IGN), which owns a number of video game stores in Nebraska. A video has been put up on YouTube of its findings in a very found footage style video. While the video doesn't show the best clips of the collection, it says there will be an update with better footage coming soon. Giving what it says is a little teaser, the video shows off rows of crates filled with classic games.

SNES fans can check out the trailer for the Nintendo Classic Mini SNES in the video below which includes a bunch of old favourites.

A number of the games are factory sealed and in mint condition. This is particularly impressive as SNES games came in cardboard boxes which are easily damaged or even destroyed. As such, complete in-box games for the system are very hard to find making the whole collection worth a shocking amount.

While there are a lot of sports games, which have not held or gained value, there is also a huge number of very high value items. The rarest game is possibly the factory sealed Chrono Trigger which could sell for thousands of dollars by itself.

There are a few others for SNES which are circling the thousand mark, including Turtles In Time, Final Fantasy III and Sunset Riders. GameRoom claims that everything will eventually go for sale on its website. However, the company wants to get all the games properly checked and valuated first.
