The Witcher 3 just got a massive update packed with new stuff

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt just got a massive update packed with new stuff and various fixes.

It was just announced that CD Projekt RED will be appearing at this year’s Summer Game Fest. I’m imagining that it’s to provide an update on Cyberpunk 2077’s upcoming Phantom Liberty expansion, but I can’t be the only one secretly hoping for a The Witcher 4 update. It’s likely wishful thinking though.

There is so much on the way when it comes to The Witcher. The Witcher 4 will kickstart a brand new trilogy (currently codenamed Polaris), plus there’s a standalone title (codenamed Canis Majoris), and a multiplayer title (known as Sirius). Let’s also not forget about the upcoming remake of the original The Witcher. Netflix have unveiled the season three trailer for the TV adaptation too. As they say, you can never have too much The Witcher. Well, no one says that but I hope it’s a sentiment you agree with as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has just received yet another update and it’s packed with new features.

Speaking of Netflix’s The Witcher, take a look at the season three trailer below.

As reported by ComicBook, Update 4.03 has been rolled out for The Witcher 3 and it contains a decent number of changes and fixes. Most importantly, the update fixes several known bugs, glitches, and other issues but more excitingly, it has also improved the visuals on PC in addition to the next-gen versions on PS5 and Xbox Series X.

In terms of what’s ‘new’ outside of fixes and tweaks, the community-made mod ‘Next Gen Script Fixes’ has been added to the game. There’s now also a new option which allows you to auto-apply oils during combat. Geralt can eat or drink underwater too thanks to the update, although this is with the exception of potions and decoctions. In all versions of the game, ray-tracing has been improved.

Admittedly, they’re not the most life-changing of additions, but it’s great to see that so much care and attention is still put into The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, all these years after release.
