The Rock just spoiled Black Adam's post-credits scene for everyone

Did anyone have "The Rock spoils his own movie on the red carpet" on their 2022 bingo card?

In a stunning series of events, Dwayne Johnson has managed to spoil the mid-credits scene for Black Adam. Really though, if you haven't seen the movie at this point, you've had plenty of opportunity to- oh, it releases in four days' time in the United States.

As per the critical response, it is looking like Black Adam is a return to form for the DC Extended Universe, with praise for its explosive action sequences and Johnson's portrayal of the complicated character. "When it moves, It’s a straight shot of adrenaline. The characters are dope, especially Teth-Adam and Doctor Fate. It’s a bad ass film," said one.

Spoilers for the film will follow past this point - here's the trailer for Black Adam so you've got a chance to head off if you don't want the story spoiled.

While the world premiere was held on 3 October in Mexico City, there have been a limited number of screenings across New York City, Toronto, London, Atlanta, Miami, Madrid and Los Angeles before the movie's official release on 21 October in the United States. So, if you don't live in any of those aforementioned cities, don't worry. Johnson has proclaimed loud and clear what you're missing out on.

In a mid-credits scene, Henry Cavill reprises his role as Superman, an appearance that was actually surprising in this era of leaks and spoilers and insider information. While being interviewed by Entertainment Tonight, Johnson confirmed that Superman is in the movie and Cavill is "home" again in the DCEU.

"The whole goal and initiative of Black Adam was to build out the DC universe by introducing not only Black Adam, but the entire [Justice Society of America]," explained the actor. "Five new superhero characters in one movie, and also - as I have been saying all along - there’s an ethos we at Seven Bucks have, and that is we always put the fans first."

"We’ve established Black Adam as the most powerful and unstoppable force on our planet. But the fans have been so passionate about, as we have been, where’s the most unstoppable force in the universe? Where is he?" continued Johnson, adding, "we’ve all been fighting for this moment... Welcome home."
