Lord of the Rings Fans Have 3 Surprise Game Releases To Enjoy In June

The Lord of the Rings fans will be able to enjoy three game releases next month, following a new announcement from Free League Publishing.
Unless you’re replaying an old favourite like The Battle for Middle-earth or the PS2 movie tie-ins, it’s been a little dry lately in terms of Lord of the Rings-themed games.
While we wait for the next big video game to come out of Middle-earth, there are several new RPG releases coming in June for you to sink your teeth into, and they’re coming on 2 June.
Released by Free League Publishing, a game studio which designs and publishes tabletop RPGs and board games, the lineup includes Hands of the White Wizard for The One Ring, Trials of Saruman, its 5E counterpart for The Lord of the Rings Roleplaying, and Hobbit Tales, a supplement for The One Ring that is set in The Shire.

More information on each title can be found below. Altogether, the releases feature a mix of high-stakes adventures set during the War of the Ring, and more relaxed experiences that will appeal to anyone who enjoys The Hobbit and lore surrounding the backstory of The Shire that Tolkien devised.
Hands of the White Wizard and Trials of Saruman are set during the early days of the War of the Ring, where players are invited to serve or watch Saruman the White before his treachery begins.
The game features six different adventures, where you journey into Isengard and decide whether Saruman’s doom is already written or whether you still have a chance to change his fate and save him from corruption.
These adventures can be played individually or as part of a larger Middle-earth tale, and they feature “new allies, foes, mysteries, and lore tied to Isengard”. For fans of this aspect of Tolkien’s original story, it sounds well worth checking out.
On the other hand, Hobbit Tales is a little less tied to the War of the Ring, instead bringing the story back to the Shire where you play as a group of Hobbits doing their Hobbit things.
This supplement for The One Ring features four farthings of the Shire: Primula and Rory Brandybuck, Paladin Took, and Bilbo Baggins himself.
Hobbit Tales features five adventures for you to play featuring these four characters, and are perfect for those who love Tolkien’s enriching descriptions of the Shire and the various Hobbits who inhabit it.
