The upcoming sequel to The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild has been delayed.
The in-development Nintendo Switch adventure was previously slated to launch at some point before the end of 2022, however Nintendo has now confirmed a Spring 2023 release window.

Nintendo made the announcement on YouTube, where Metroid Prime 4 fans will no doubt recall the sting of the last development update.

Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma told fans that the team had "decided to extend the development time a bit" and change the release to 2023.
"For those of you who have been looking forward to a release this year I apologise,"Aonuma said. Fortunately, he also shared a few seconds of brand-new footage, that teased an "expanded world" and "brand-new features", which takes the sting out of the news ever-so slightly. Announcing The Wind Waker for Switch might also make us feel a bit better, jsyk.
Aonuma finished: "In order to make this game's experience something special, the entire development team is continuing to work diligently on this game - so please wait a while longer."
