The Elder Scrolls VI may still be an unknown way off, but a little something else is arriving to keep the fandom satiated in the meantime.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered landed earlier this year, much to everybody’s surprise - and it seems that a physical version of that game will land very soon.
The announcement was made on the official Elder Scrolls social media accounts.
“When you've cleared two goblin caves, an underwater shipwreck, and the entire town of Hackdirt, and you still can't remember where you picked this item up,” read a Twitter/X post.

An accompanying image featured a ‘Physical Deluxe Edition’ of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.
Underneath, it stated that this will drop on 13 October 2025, which is in just under two weeks time.
Beyond this, details are a tad thin on the ground at the moment.
The post allows fans to view the release’s black and gold cover which stylistically matches what we’ve seen from previous Elder Scrolls releases.

According to Dealabs’ billbil-kun who leaked the physical copy several days ahead of its official announcement, it’s believed this item will not be made available for pre-order and will instead be available to purchase on release day.
What remains to be seen is the extent of what’ll be offered within this physical release.
These days, not all physical games contain all of their files on the disc provided; many require you to download files upon inserting the disc into your console which somewhat defeats the purpose.
What’s even worse is receiving a code in the box. I once pre-ordered a pricey steelbook only to receive a code within it which begs the question: what was the point of the steelbook if there’s no disc?

GamesRadar previously reported that someone received an email from Play-Asia claiming that Oblivion Remastered would be offered as a code in a box, but billbil-kun was unable to obtain any additional information concerning this.
Let’s all cross our fingers and hope that, at the very least, we’re getting partial files on a disc.
Fans seem happy to have the chance to buy this classic on disc.
“OH MY,” declared CfieldsVFL.

“Please come with a map,” wrote DeMickyD.
“Thank you for a physical edition! Still have the original game, and look forward to picking this up and playing again,” said rickdunsmuir.
I’m with DeMickyD. A physical version of the game’s map would be pretty sweet.
There’s no word on how this release will be priced just yet, but we’ll keep an eye out for that information.
