This is not a drill, people

Us keep banging on about The Elder Scrolls VI can be frustrating, we know. But this latest development is a huge step forward for the game.

Since 2018, we’ve been hanging onto every word from both Bethesda and so-called insiders.

Yet, authentic information has been hard to come by.

As much as we’d love to see The Elder Scrolls VI trailer drop tomorrow, it’s just not going to happen.

Will the next Elder Scrolls RPG be as breathtaking as Skyrim? Lord, we hope so.

Nonetheless, while a trailer is nowhere to be seen, development is in full swing now that the Starfield team has shifted its focus.

This information comes after Twitter user @bogorad222 noticed that one Starfield developer has updated their LinkedIn profile to now say they’re working on TES VI.

For those fans who’ve been waiting for a sign, this news is “worth gold”.

Even though this one developer has joined TES VI team, it doesn’t necessarily mean that everyone else is doing the same.

Don’t forget that Bethesda previously said that it would be supporting Starfield for years to come.

If that still holds true, we might be putting the cart before the horse, as the saying goes.

Then again, like with any big publisher, a certain amount of juggling is necessary when multiple franchises are involved.

BioWare, for example, is doing the same with Dragon Age and Mass Effect.

Despite the fact that no DLC will be released for Dragon Age: The Veilguard, some of the development team will still help with patches, etc.

Yes, the focus is now on Mass Effect 5, but someone will also be working on The Veilguard.

It’s more than likely that this is similar to how Bethesda will operate moving forward.

Still, it’s huge news for the Elder Scrolls community to see that shift from one title to another happening in real time.

Remember to temper your expectations; just because a shift is happening doesn’t mean the game will launch any time soon.

We’ve still got years to wait.
