The Elder Scrolls 6 leak teases much closer release date than we imagined

Is a 2026 release date actually possible?

One leaker seems to think that The Elder Scrolls VI is a lot closer to release than we previously thought, based on its development progress.

Over seven years ago, we were treated to the first (and so far, only) teaser trailer for The Elder Scrolls VI.

Since then, we’ve heard a bunch of confirmed info about the game, including.. uhh… umm… alright, you got me. I’ve got nothing.

One leaker seems to think Bethesda is close to releasing the game however, as they’ve stated that the game is in a “quite playable” state.

This news comes from Windows Central’s Jez Corden on The Xbox Two podcast, who revealed that Bethesda is supposedly much closer to completing The Elder Scrolls VI than we previously thought.

But what do the folks over on the r/ElderScrolls subreddit think of all this? Not good things, I’ll tell you that much.

“I'd sure hope it is”, commented user TehNolz.

“They announced that game 7 years ago. It would be very concerning if they didn't have something playable by now.”

“Look, even if it was true, it's bethesda. "Quite playable" can range from anywhere between Fallout 76 launch with its 2 hours of 1000+ bugs or oblivion remaster with its occasional issue. I don't trust it”, replied user RenCake.

Of course, the real question is, how likely is it that this leak is true?

Personally, I think it’s a load of old rubbish.

The game has been in development for god knows how long at this point, so stating that it’s “quite playable” is equivalent to me stating that the air will be “quite breathable” tomorrow morning.

Yeah man, obviously it’s in a semi-playable state. That’s not a bloody leak. That’s just you stating the most self-evident thing possible in a bid to look like you know something and give yourself some credibility.

I do not doubt that there’s a version of The Elder Scrolls VI at Bethesda’s offices that you can play. Does that mean the game is close to being finished? No.

It could be. It could also not be. I could also be crowned king of the world tomorrow and pass a law that makes stating asinine bollocks like this illegal.

Being as vague as humanly possible about something blatantly obvious does not make you a leaker or some insider; it just makes you some bloke on a podcast.

Oooh, wait a tic, I fancy "leaking" something myself. Grand Theft Auto VI is gonna let you shoot guns! You heard it here first, folks!
