All Elder Scrolls fans are eagerly awaiting news on the next new game in the franchise, and while Bethesda has kept quiet on any and all details of what they’re working on, a new leak has revealed more.
According to a supposed leak on 4Chan, a Bethesda developer has revealed details on The Elder Scrolls VI, hinting that it may arrive in two years.
It's been seven years since The Elder Scrolls VI was revealed.
Reported by a user over on Reddit, there’s a lot to dig into, but the headline news in the alleged leak “estimates [the] game will be complete in two years”.

Considering the first teaser was shown back in 2018, and production has been steadily ticking along ever since, another two years sounds about right.
Also included in the leak were details about the game’s setting, confirming previous rumours that The Elder Scrolls VI would be set in Hammerfell.
There’s also explanation that the game will feature sailing, and players can visit new islands across the sea.
This will be accomplished using “a medieval shipbuilder mode using tech from Starfield".

Of course, this could all very well be fake, as the Reddit user who created this thread notes, as apart from the two-year timeline, we’ve heard much of this information before.
Bethesda is yet to say anything more about the game, keeping all details quiet, however, this year could see the studio take to the stage at Summer Game Fest to finally reveal the game fully, and take advantage of the momentum from the Oblivion remaster and the Fallout TV show.
For now, we’ll take these scraps of information, in the hope it all turns out to be real.
Some fans over on Reddit aren’t convinced by the leak, with one user saying, “This sounds fake, if only because of the weird insistence on ships and shipbuilding.”
