With season five already being confirmed, albeit it being the last ever season, it remains to be seen how much more chaos can be caused in its last episode.

However, ahead of it being aired later today, Prime Video have been forced to add a content warning.

Following the assassination attempt on Donald Trump this weekend, The Boys has now issued a warning to the start of the season finale.

Additionally, the episode which was once titled ‘Assassination Run’ has now been renamed to ‘Season 4 Finale’.

The warning reads as follows: “Viewer discretion advised. This episode contains scenes of fictional political violence.

Any similarities to recent events are completely coincidental and unintentional.

Prime Video, Amazon MGM Studios, Sony Pictures Television and the producers of The Boys oppose, in the strongest terms, real-world violence of any kind.”

The Boys has never shied away from hard-hitting storylines but it is quite unfortunate this time around. Luckily, it has safeguarded itself with this content warning.

So far, season four of The Boys has been met with a mixed reception with some criticising its focus on shock value over a decent narrative.

However, the majority of fans have been eagerly watching its devastating deaths, the return of beloved characters and its gruesome Homelander twist.

With its fifth season set to be its last, it has been a good run for the dark comedy which put a unique spin on the lives of superheroes. Let us hope the season finale will live up to the hype!
