The Boys: Trigger Warning is a brand new game inspired by the Amazon Prime series launching in 2026, and it features some of the original cast.

Inspired by the comic book series of the same name, written by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, The Boys is one of the most popular programs on Amazon’s streaming service, Prime Video.

The Boys takes place in a world where superheroes openly live amongst the common folk. Well, I say “superheroes”, in The Boys, there seem to be more sinister “supes” than there are good-natured heroes.

At the heart of The Boys is the evil corporation Vought International, the company responsible for the supes, and the face of the company is a group known as “The Seven” led by the dastardly Homelander. Think a diabolical, egotistical, insecure Superman, and that’s pretty much Homelander in a nutshell.

The live-action adaptation of The Boys premiered on Prime Video on 26 July 2019 and became an instant hit with its intriguing cast of characters, gore and some very questionable sexualised scenes. The success of The Boys also spawned a fantastic spin-off series with Gen V in 2023.

Now, The Boys is set to enter its fifth and final season next year, where Billy Butcher, Starlight, Hughie Campbell and associates look to bring down The Seven and Vought International once and for all. Will they achieve that? Only time will tell.

A The Boys Video Game Emerges

However, hot on the heels of the first trailer for The Boys season five is The Boys: Trigger Warning, a brand-new VR game coming to PS VR2 and Meta Quest in Spring 2026. It’s developed by ARVORE and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

“Lucas Costa’s life detonates when the Armstrongs—a washed-up but still lethal family of Vought Superheroes—turn a family outing into carnage,” reads the synopsis of The Boys: Trigger Warning.

“The Boys drag Lucas back from the brink, juice him with powers, and throw him headfirst into their filthy underground war against Vought and its Supes. With Butcher and Mother’s Milk guiding from the shadows, Lucas sets off on a no-mercy hunt to put the Armstrongs in the ground.”

While it seems the likes of Billy Butcher and Homelander will be voiced by different actors, popular actors from the live-action series will reprise their roles, including Laz Alonso (Mother’s Milk), Jensen Ackles (Soldier Boy), Colby Minifie (Ashley Barrett), and P.J. Byrne (Adam Bourke).

As for The Boys season five, it will premiere on Prime Video on 8 April 2026, and we'll be keeping an eye on updates for Trigger Warning.
