Steam's regular events have become a cornerstone of the experience for players, with a ton of discounts and special offers available if you log in at the right time. The latest in that series is the Multiplayer Games Fest in conjunction with Steam China, and there's the opportunity to pick up some always-welcome freebies.
With the event aiming to spotlight multiplayer titles from indies all the way to AAAs, Steam has also granted us some free cosmetics to make our profile standout. Head over to the Points Shop and you should see the Multiplayer Avatar Frame, Mini-Background and Background items available for a grand total of zero points.
To claim the items, simply login to your Steam profile and head to the Points Shop, where you will find the items available under the Sales & Events section.
All three should serve as relatively nice additions to your collection, but there are also some solid discounts on games to take advantage of if you're in the market for some multiplayer madness. Top down shooter Phantom Squad is available at a 25% reduction on its usual price, while hilarious the hilariously described "old people mayhem sandbox" Just Die Already is a massive 80% off, with the game sitting on Very Positive reviews on the store.

Equally, there are plenty of free-to-play games that the event aims to draw attention to, particularly from the MMO genre. Eternal Return, Yi Xian: The Cultivation Card Game and Torchlight: Infinite are all solid picks, that remain popular in both the reviews section and amongst their active player bases. Recently released space battler Wildgate is also headlining the event, though that currently sits at the regular price it released with in July.
The 2025 Multiplayer Games Fest is set to run until 12 August, with the spotlight set to shine on co-op and large scale titles from almost every genre.
