Hot off the screeched tyre tracks that marked the blistering arrival of Forza Horizon 6, one former Racing Game of the Year nominee has been forced to pull into Steam's pit lane for an early retirement.
Forza Horizon 6 has wasted no time in making its arrival known, slapping its exhaust on the table and setting a precedent that has seen it be discussed as a Game of the Year contender.
But, with the gaming industry being dog-eat-dog, it looks like one game has been bitten by the new Forza arrival.
Just three years after its release, and 2K LEGO Driver has announced its last lap.
Originally, a LEGO driving game where you could build your own car block by block sounded like quite a catch.

Made to rival Forza as an open-world racer, LEGO 2K Drive boasted a range of solid, creative initiatives, but its launch was met with a flat tyre.
It wasn't for a lack of trying, though, as we rated the title exceptionally well, describing it as a "delightful open-world adventure jam-packed with content - and topped with LEGO’s signature brand of humour."
However, unlike other masterpieces that LEGO has produced, the audience simply didn't latch on.
Now, just hours after Forza Horizon 6 launched, the Steam page has been updated to announce its delisting from digital stores as of next week.

With a simple statement, the Steam page reveals that the game will no longer be available to be purchased as of May 19.
The delisting is also followed by the announcement that LEGO 2K Drive will be completely shut down as of May 31, 2027.
If you want to try it for yourself before time runs out, it will cost you £20 on PC and console stores.
But costing just shy of 30 percent of Forza Horizon 6 - or two months' worth of Xbox Game Pass, where the new blockbuster is a day one freebie - it's clear that even 2K is hedging its bets as to where your hard-earned coin is going.
As for Forza, there seems to be no stopping its heavy metal momentum this spring, scoring a perfect 10/10 by our esteemed reviewer.
"I’m constantly having the urge for one more race," wrote Richard Breslin.
"Which in itself is a testament to the great work crafted by Forza Horizon 6’s development team at Playground Games."
