I doubt there are many people who after last night’s ‘Starfield Direct’ aren’t super keen to get their hands on Bethesda’s upcoming space epic. There are AAA games, and then there is whatever Starfield is. This game looks set to take gaming to the next level.

Set to release on 6 September, Starfield received a fresh gameplay trailer at yesterday’s event, but that’s just scraping the surface. We got our first glimpse at Starfield’s enormous map which will allow you to travel to over 1,000 planets, plus we discovered that (unfortunately) The Adorning Fan is back. By Azura! Todd Howard also revealed that certain NPCs will call you by your actual name, or whatever you input anyway. For example, one robot referred to Todd in-game as Captain Howard. How long until someone puts in something inappropriate I wonder? If you are one of those people itching to get your hands on this release, early access details have been unveiled.

Take a look at the latest trailer for Starfield below.

If you want to play Starfield early, it’s super simple. You’ll just need to pre-order certain editions of the game, as several pre-order editions grant five days early access, meaning you should gain access to Starfield on 1 September. Of course, Starfield will be an Xbox Game Pass day one release so if you’re opting to play this version, you won’t be eligible for early access.

Early access is included in the £99.99 Digital Premium Edition and the £34.99 Digital Premium Edition upgrade (to be paired with the base game). In addition to the five-days early access, these versions also include the Shattered Space story expansion (upon release), the Constellation skin pack, and access to a Starfield digital artbook and soundtrack.

The pricey Constellation Edition will set you back £249.99 and comes with the base game, the Shattered Space story expansion (upon release), the five days early access, the Constellation Skin pack, access to a Starfield digital artbook and soundtrack, a steelbook display case, a Constellation patch, a Credit Stick with Laser-Etched Game Code, and a Starfield Chronomark watch and case.

All those who pre-order will get the Laser Cutter, Deep Mining Helmet, and Deep Mining Pack in-game items, even on Game Pass.
