Starfield Overhaul Makes Exploring Planets So Much Better

More variety incoming

A new Starfield overhaul has dramatically improved exploring planets, and it’s available to download now.

Starfield has been one of the more controversial Bethesda releases of the last few years. While a lot of people would generally agree it’s a fine game, it certainly hasn’t quite hit the same strides as Fallout and The Elder Scrolls have.

One particular big criticism leveled against Starfield is the exploration aspect, which has gained a lot of attention for being less interesting and more “copy-and-paste” compared to other RPGs.

Whether or not you agree with that, a new Starfield mod has just been released that at least makes exploring planets a little more interesting.

Complete Weather Overhaul by EloiMods adds a load of new weather effects and visuals to Starfield, making each planet’s environment all the more unpredictable.

Existing weather effects such as cloudy, overcast, and rain have been expanded, with multiple new additions to each one appearing on planets where they can form.

There are also new weather effect combinations that can create unique weather conditions for different planets, as well as special effects for city environments.

Altogether, it should mean there’s a little more variety in weather that can trigger on each planet.

Some other neat additions to the mod include some particle optimisation, so your game should run a bit more smoothly in rainy environments, and a visual rework to thunderstorms to make them look a little more realistic. Timescale has also been slowed down a little, so the duration of sunrises and sunsets will last a bit longer.

So it’s not a massive change in terms of gameplay, but it will at least mean some of the explorable environments are a bit more varied and interesting to run around in.

You can download Complete Weather Overhaul now from the Starfield page on Nexus Mods.
