Stardew Valley Just Got A Sweet New Event You Can Download Now

This new addition to Stardew Valley might be the sweetest, most wholesome thing I’ve ever seen added to a game, and it’s making me want to start my journey through the game all over again.

Stardew Valley is, quite possibly, borderline perfect.

Really, no game is actually perfect, but damn does this one come close. There’s only really a couple of small issues I have with the game, but they’re not that big a deal…

Well, except, I do think it would have been nice if your Grandpa had a little bit more to do in the story. Y’know, beyond just setting up the events of the game, and then reappearing as a ghost to give you an evaluation afterwards.

That’s why this new mod for Stardew Valley is making me seriously consider a new playthrough, because it’s finally adding some more, cute lore for your grandfather.

"CSS' From Grandpa With Love - An Event Mod" is a new mod over on Nexus from author ClairesStoryofSeasons, and my god does it sound adorable.

“From Grandpa, With Love is an event mod that allows your farmer to read letters prepared by Grandpa before his passing”, mod author ClairesStoryofSeasons reveals in the mod’s description.

“Tied to some of your in-game milestones and achievements, each one of these letters is contained in a series of cutscenes as if Grandpa is speaking to you himself. These letters are meant to guide you, encourage you, and show you that Grandpa has always believed in you.”

Ugh, my heart. That just sounds absolutely perfect. That really is the only thing I could possibly think to add to this game, honestly.

Oh, except, it would also be nice if there was some kind of in-game GPS system. Something that could guide you towards quest objective– nevermind, of course there’s already a mod for that, too.
